Immigration

People migrate to America for various reasons. They want the American dream, they don't like their government, they are being mistreated, etc... When they migrate the "legal" way it can be a good thing. However, that is predicated on specific rules that must be followed. They have to become fully American and contribute to society. That's not too much to ask. If they want to bring their country with them then they might as well stay where they are. Becoming American means they wave the American flag, not the flag of the country they are trying to get away from. They need to learn English. They need to leave their religion behind if it teaches to kill Americans. The fly doesn't invite the spider over for dinner because he knows that he'll become the dinner. In other words, there is a process. Follow the process or stay where you are.

Illegal Children of Illegal Parents

I haven't written in this blog for a long time but I feel it's time because people are losing their minds.  I'd like to start with one very important question: What is your solution of what to do with the children?       The options are very limited.  The parents have broken the law and are detained.  Logically, what choices does that leave us with for the children?  Do we send them home with no parents or maybe to live with relatives in their country?  We are feeding them, housing them, and providing people to watch over them.  This is all being done with the taxpayer money of Americans and it's not even being done for Americans.  I would think people would be grateful.  The parents broke the law and got in trouble.  What happens to American kids when this happens?  They are either taken in by relatives or they become a ward of the state.  How is this different?  They ar...

Charlottesville, VA

The racist attacks in Charlottesville, Virginia today have sparked an onslaught of arguments on social media.  When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's we were past racism like this.  We had moved on from the hate of the 50's and 60's when the KKK and Black Panthers were at their peak.  Now, here we go again.  This storm started to stir again 4 or 5 years ago.  This time with white supremacists and Black Lives Matter.  Why?  Because people started being offended by everything.  Today's protests started because some local governments are trying to destroy American heritage and memorial monuments.  I don't mean to sound like an old grandpa but these things didn't happen when I was younger.  We didn't agree with everything that happened in American history but it was still history and was to be preserved.  I'm a southern boy and proud of my heritage.  Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the south that was racist, it was democ...
